Hello! My name is Josie Whiteside, and I’m excited to be part of the Ladybug Lactation team!
A little about me—I’m a wife and proud mom to two energetic boys, ages 7 and 11. Both of my boys are passionate about baseball, so you can usually find our family cheering them on at the ballfield year-round! My husband and I have been together for 14 years, and family is at the heart of everything I do. Outside of lactation consulting, I work full-time as a Legal Assistant and part-time at a local pizza restaurant. In my free time, I enjoy crocheting, crafting, and creating art.
My journey into lactation care began in a way I never expected. I originally attended college with dreams of becoming an elementary school teacher. However, after becoming pregnant with my first son, my plans took a different direction—one that ultimately led me to discover my true passion.
I breastfed my first son for three years, and that experience sparked a deep interest in breastfeeding and maternal support. As I began sharing my knowledge and personal experiences with friends navigating their own breastfeeding journeys, I realized how much I enjoyed helping other mothers overcome challenges and gain confidence.
While continuing my education, I welcomed my second son into the world. Balancing motherhood, work, coursework, and clinical internship hours was not always easy, but my passion for helping families kept me motivated. After years of dedication and hands-on experience, I proudly achieved my goal of becoming an IBCLC.
One thing I’m especially proud to offer is bilingual lactation support in both English and Spanish. I believe every family deserves access to compassionate, evidence-based care in a language they feel comfortable speaking. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where parents feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their feeding journeys.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of Ladybug Lactation and look forward to helping families navigate the joys and challenges of feeding their little ones. Whether you're preparing to welcome your baby, experiencing breastfeeding difficulties, or simply looking for reassurance, I’m here to provide individualized guidance and encouragement every step of the way.
